Craft Coffee- Costa Rica Sonora

Craft Coffee- Costa Rica Sonora

I found this awesome coffee shop while wandering around near the Kowloon area of Hong Kong. The door to the coffee shop is amazing – an espresso tamper! I will definitely steal that if I ever open up a brick and mortar.

If you’re in Hong Kong I highly recommend this place. The baristas are meticulous, and they take the utmost care in all aspects of making your coffee (too much care almost – it took about 8 minutes to get my cup after ordering). The presentation was spectacular as well.

The only real downside to this place is the cost. Even by Bay Area standards it’s expensive ($6.50 for a pour over).  I ended up picking up a bag of their Costa Rican.

Nice balanced nose of malt balls and milk chocolate. Very smooth, juicy, stone fruits, plum, milky and nutty chocolate. Dry finish, which leaves a somewhat unpleasant mouthfeel. The flavor is so good that I can overlook the dryness. The lingering finish has a hint of tobacco.

Made as a pour over – fine grind, 20g coffee/300g water, Hario filter
