When visiting Tokyo I always stop by Harajuku to visit one of my favorite coffee shops, Nozy Coffee. About a 5-10 minute walk from harajuku station, this coffee shop is located on cat street. A full roaster inside, the employees do clippings and roasting daily. The shop baristas are friendly and speak pretty good English to boot. I also highly recommend the pastries.
Today I tried the Costa Rica El Hacon as a French Press. The nose is very chocolatey and rich with chocolate covered cherries. The chocolate covered cherries follow into the cup. A little bit acidic on the fonish, maybe could have been roasted a tad longer. Little bit of malt on the finish. I really get the red cherries on this one. The after taste indeed is long, and I get a hint of caramel. No apple cider though.
